In the December issue, ArtReview’s 21st edition of the Power 100, the magazine’s annual ranking of the international contemporary artworld’s 100 most influential figures, from artists and thinkers to collectors and activists. As ever, there continues to be existential debate about what art is and what it’s for. This year, it has been noted that power no longer only accrues to those securely at the top of their respective hierarchies, but also to those who disrupt the usual way of doing things.
